Glass Blasting for Stainless Steel

Glass blasting, also known as glass bead blasting, is a surface treatment process that utilises fine glass beads as a blasting medium to clean, polish, or finish stainless steel surfaces. This method is particularly effective for achieving a smooth, even surface finish while preserving the integrity of the underlying material.

Key Features and Benefits:

  • Uniform Finish: The use of glass beads creates a consistent and uniform matt surface finish, enhancing the aesthetic appeal of stainless-steel products.
  • Minimal Material Removal: Unlike more aggressive blasting methods, glass blasting is gentle on the substrate, minimising material removal and preserving the dimensions of the stainless-steel components.
  • Reduced Risk of Contamination: Glass beads are non-metallic, which reduces the risk of introducing ferrous contamination that can lead to rust and corrosion on stainless steel.
  • Environmentally Friendly: Glass blasting media is recyclable and can be reused multiple times, making it an environmentally responsible choice for surface treatment.
  • Versatile Application: This method is suitable for a wide range of stainless-steel components, from small parts to whole switchboard assemblies.

By employing glass blasting treatment for our stainless steel switchboards we can offer enhanced quality and durability while achieving superior surface finishes.
